Throughout the entire Baked Potato administration, and no matter just how laughable and embarrassing the United States have conducted themselves over the last decade, I’ve always maintained that I still had faith in my country.  I know patriotism seems kind of lame, but I do think it’s important to be proud of one’s home, and no matter how much America has tested my resolve, I’ve never been one to denounce it, because I live here, and I do think it’s a place capable of greatness.

But I just can’t do it anymore.  America sucks. 

We are a sad country full of the majority of the worst humans on the planet.  Corrupt all the way to the core of the groups of people entrusted to run the country responsibly and with the best interests of the people, and not themselves.  Corporations, investors and the wealthy run the country, and it’s a disgusting circle-jerk of millionaires and billionaires protecting and padding their own interests at the expense of everyone else, and because it’s the people up top doing it, they literally cannot be policed or stopped. 

A population that lacks rudimentary education and is incapable of free will and independent thinking and are so easily swayed and influenced by fake information on the social media platforms that are their greatest stimuli.  A risk-averse nation fueled by fear and hatred, where everyone hates each other because they can’t agree on things instead of trying to communicate and understand one another.

I saw something on the internet where an American reached out to people outside of America to learn of what the perception of America is on the outside, and predictably it was a laugh track of people from other countries talking about how sad and pathetic we are.  We’re a first-world country that’s performing like a third-world country, and how dangerous it is that we’ve become a third-world country that still thinks they’re first-world.  But one thing hit the hardest; a remark about how America was the Florida of the entire world.  Definitely wince-worthy, but not at all inaccurate.

We suck right now, and there doesn’t look like there’s much hope that it’s ever going to get better any time soon.
