Best link ever

Seriously, this is perhaps the greatest link in the entire world that I have ever seen.  At first, I was going to actually defiantly hotlink directly to the artwork, but if anyone is really crazy enough to track me down for doing such, it might as well be him.

Former pro-wrestler, and world-renown nutjob, (the Ultimate) Warrior apparently has picked up oil painting.  For the low, low cost of starting somewhere around $2,500 (I shit you not), you can get some of his actual work!

My name is Warrior. I am a self -taught artist. I use oils and my only tool is a knife.

And that’s only the beginning.  If you take the time to read, you can also find this little nugget of technique:

The paint on my paintings is an inch to an inch-and-a-half thick in some areas.

This information is very much not surprising, if anyone can recall the intensity and insanity of him in the ring, take that, and apply it to him while he’s wearing a beanie, smock, and carrying an oversized pallet in his left hand.  Seriously, I have to imagine in order to support clumps of oil paint ranging from a half to a full inch thick, he has to be painting on like drywall, instead of canvas.

And I thought the Warrior said that “queering doesn’t work?

There’s a reason why I call him Baby Jesus

I’ve been waiting a long time for this. The last time the National League defeated the American League in the MLB All-Star game was in 1996. That is until last night, when the National League finally defeated the AL for the first time in 14 years.

All thanks to Brian McCann, the catcher for the Atlanta Braves. In the top of the 7th inning, down by one run, with the bases loaded and two outs, and no room for error, Baby Jesus takes a 98 mph fastball, and smashes it deep into right field, and just like that, the bases are cleared, McCann stands alone on second, and the National League is up 3-1. This would be the final score, and without question, Baby Jesus is named MVP of the 2010 All-Star game. Also without question, this is one my personal favorite highlights of the entire 2010 season to date.

The kind of heartbreak

Well, since Mother Nature has decided to be raging bitch lately, and instead of some steady rainfall, we’re simply getting bursts of torrential downpour that are perfectly timed to be at the most inopportune times possible. It’s beautiful, sunny, and hot, while I’m at work (which, by the way, is the mind-numbing job I was so glad to have supposedly been relieved of), but 10 minutes into my commute home, the sky begins falling, and hasn’t really stopped; and the best part is that it flares up repeatedly, knocking out my satellite several times when all I’m trying to do is enjoy the All-Star game.

So, I resort to writing, since I’ve got a lot on my mind lately.

To some it may seem a little bit silly, but I’m not going to say that I’m not a little heartbroken over recent events, but admittedly, I am heartbroken. It’s not like I was in love with the girl, but I was certainly leaning in the direction of wanting to continue building a relationship before circumstances dictated otherwise. But it’s not the kind of heartbreak that results in crippling me into oblivion. Far from it. But it is still heartbreak nonetheless. And truth be told, I have felt a similar heartbreak in my life before; but it wasn’t caused by a girl.

This is a story about a girl

I sit down to write, and I am aware that it is a volatile state of mind in which I do so.  I brog a fairly open glimpse into the happenings of my life, for whom, I am not quite sure.  I do not know if four people read my site on a regular basis, or if it there are fifty, or if there are a hundred.  Mostly, I do this for myself, because it’s something I picked up in 2001, and after this much time of fairly regular writing, I just can’t bring myself to ever stop completely.  It’s like a pet, that no matter what, I can’t neglect it, even if it pisses me off.

For those of you who actually do read my writing, and have had difficulty reading in between the lines, here is a brief summary: a girl showed up on my long-dormant radar, there was a spark, a brief period of burning, and then it was subdued; and slowly suffocated.  And today, eight weeks later, extinguished.

And writing about it seems like a good idea, for some reason.  This is one thing I’m doing to cope with it, and move on.

I just want to play Mass Effect 2 without glare!

The last time I checked my bank account, the funds were a little on the sparse side, so I told myself that maybe it would be best if I simply stayed home this weekend.  Play some Mass Effect 2, watch some baseball, and relax.  Save my money, especially since I’m out of contract work again at the moment.

Upon sitting down to play some ME2, I realize that I cannot really fully enjoy the game, because of the gratuitous amount of glare that my big screen is getting from the kitchen windows.  And since Jen and I have more or less neglected to get any curtains for these windows, the following is the measures that I have to take in order to alleviate the situation just a little bit, at least to where I can actually enjoy the game again.

And then when I got the mail later on in the day, there are two paychecks waiting for me.  Somewhere down the line, I didn’t receive a paycheck for an entire week’s worth of work and it went completely unnoticed.  So now, my supposed sparse funds don’t seem to concerning anymore.

Testing the WordPress app

So since I have this spiffy android phone, I figured why not test the thousands of apps now available to me?  Now, as my brother so aptly pointed out, now when I’m on the crapper and I have a profound thought, I’m a 3G signal away from it going live.  Now I don’t know how often I plan on using this, but it’s nice to know it’s possible.  Options are always nice . . .
