Man, fuck the Braves*

Looking for a good picture to use with this post, nothing says failure like a (likely CG’d) photograph of the Braves’ bar/venue/restaurant packed to the gills with St. Louis Cardinals fans going bonkers watching the Cardinals play against the Reds.

Long story short: despite the fact that Cobb County has already paid a gozillion dollars to fund the corrupt and immoral White Flight ScumTrust Park and Battery Atlanta, the Braves are balking over another $5 million dollars, having the audacity to claim that they are owed, for some infrastructure fees

One again, man, fuck the Braves.*

*management, I have to constantly remind myself that I’m still a fan of the baseball product, but I absolutely abhor and loathe the shitheads that actually own the team

A bunch of greedy motherfuckers who already bilked a county out of $400 million+, resulting in tax increases and the dismal possibility of closures and removal of simple community amenities like parks and libraries, is complaining over another $5 million dollars?  Sure, most of the time the rich are rich, because they’re staunch about money like this capacity, but god damn, fuck them and fuck anyone else who is so completely self-important and self-absorbed to not see the absurdity in their demands.

The Braves have already, for lack of a better term, raped the county for ungodly amounts of tax dollars, so they could have a brand-new stadium and glorified shopping center around their stadium, that was away from a scary black community.  Seriously, there’s no way the talking heads behind all this have contributed nearly as much money as the county was forced to pony up, mostly against their will.  And now they’re complaining because they want the county to go ahead and pay for the plumbing for the entire fucking stadium grounds?  Get the fuck out of here.

At this point, I’m pretty much out of words to say to express my disgust with the Braves ownership and just how greedy and selfish they are to nickel and dime their biggest, albeit not all necessarily willing, contributors, over something as basic as infrastructure.  I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but me personally, I find it way easier to be willing to open up the wallet and spent a little bit of money here and there for organizations that I respect, and if the Braves could stop being such shitheads, even I’d be more willing to overlook their gross ScumTrust partnership and be willing to actually spend money at a game.

I’d like to believe that there are people out there that think somewhat similarly, and if that were actually the case, imagine how easy it would be for the Braves to actually be able to make money that they could spend in order to make more if people were actually willing to give it to them?  But no, the Braves have to go the route of imposing their will unto others and basically bullying their way into getting free shit, leading to even the biggest of sports fans like me who are also ordinary people with brains and logic, to really lose respect and admiration for a property that I struggle with on a regular basis, to continue to like and try and separate the team from the ownership.

When this actually goes to court or mediation, I really hope some judge or arbiter just looks at the Braves side of the table and basically goes, bitch, your franchise is worth $1.6 billion dollars, and you guys pull in hundreds of millions of dollars a year in revenue that you don’t have to share with anyone.  You motherfuckers pay the $5 million water bill.

Such probably won’t be the case, because the Braves will probably buy off whomever is going to be involved in the legal side of things, and then Cobb County will be made responsible for even more shit that they shouldn’t have to be forced to pay.  Hopefully there won’t be any further tax increases, but hey, the team’s got to pay for that Kurt Suzuki extension somehow.
