At first notion, this might seem like kind of a fluff post, but the thing is if anyone ever asks me “what would you like?” often times, I don’t necessarily have an answer for them.

It’s not that things I want are all exorbitantly expensive, although most are, like more championship belts, a larger home in a better neighborhood, camera equipment, but when it comes to little things that are more like trinkets, or along the caliber of birthday or holiday gifts, I typically don’t have the slightest clue to what to ask for.  Typically, I’m a fairly anti-clutter kind of person, and I have to imagine that if I lived by myself completely, my entire residence would be considered “minimalist” bordering along the lines of appearing like a somewhat abandoned home.

The point is, I’m not someone with a lot of materialistic wants.  Lately, I’ve been thinking about things I’d want, and missing the point, the following are (mostly) things that aren’t necessarily in the “gift” class either, but whatever, I want them anyway.

• A nice coat.  I haven’t had a particularly nice coat in quite some time.  Throughout the years, I’ve worn big, oversized coats of my past, or hooded sweatshirts that aren’t necessarily bad garments for warmth in cooler weather, but as my aesthetic preferences have gradually changed throughout the years, I’m finding that I wouldn’t mind something that looked a little nicer and more fitted. Something versatile too, like something that I could wear to the typical family dinner, or when simply going out to a somewhat fancy occasion.  Maybe I need more than one coat, but the bottom line is that I wouldn’t mind having some nicer outerwear, especially as the fall is beginning to settle in and the temperatures are dropping again.
• A necklace with intrinsic or personal value.  Yeah, it might sound kind of lame or sissy-ish to some, but I like jewelry.  But the thing is that I don’t really want something that I can go to the mall and pick up at a wagon kiosk, as I said, I’d like to have something to wear around my neck that has meaning to me.  Obviously, this isn’t something that can easily be acquired, but from an aesthetic perspective, I’d like to have something to wear around my neck.
• Another tattoo.  Not everyone might know it, but I’ve got five tattoos.  Four of them are dorkily anime-related, and all gotten before I was even legal, and they’re there til the end of time, regardless of how I may feel about them today.  But it doesn’t matter, lately, I’ve been thinking about the possibility of getting another one.  What and where it would go, I don’t have the really have much clue, but hopefully I’ll make a decision on something that I’ll be happy with.

And there you have it, things I want.  Obviously, these aren’t things that are going to be of any help if there are people out there that are into gift giving, but I needed something to write about, and this felt like something as good as any to do such with.
